I am based in India Baroda and I completed my B.F.A and M.F.A degree from Visva Bharati University Santiniketa West Bengol 2011.
Being a fourth generation migrated person I have been also brought up with the thoughts of displacement caused by ‘migration hangover’, as my ancestors were belong to the land of Bangladesh origin. I myself also migrated from one place to another since my childhood as time demands for different purposes; therefore, my works mostly expose the struggle between ground reality and existential crisis.
I am using paper on my work from last four years continuously it come to me as an essential medium to explore the ideas of layers of histories. The fragility of the medium not only adds a new dimension but also provides the desired surface to work.
Each pieces of torn paper plays a vital role in the construction of images in my works; each pieces of paper carries forward a certain fragrance of history and when placed to the next piece, it evolves into a new narratives. Connecting various cultures either traditionally or religiously, I would like to execute in my work with a pictorial depiction of a ‘mass displacement’ representing a metaphor of intercultural diaspora.
