ROMI ─ Roman Hiele 與 Michelle Woods
Period: 2015/07/21 ~ 2015/10/21
Nation: UK / Belgium
Genre: Sound & mix media
ROMI is a gustatory and auditory investigation, it is an evolving library based on electroacoustic sounds and their influence on the sensations of eating. How can we manipulate the tastes and sensations of eating foods by using sound in a musical way?
Our aim is to create a computer program that will connect our library of foods with our library of sounds. An interactive program or application that will generate musical soundscapes, (for playful and for professional use), to listen to whilst eating.
During our residency at The Pier-2 Art Center, we would like to continue our Tastesounds testing, and also local food and sound research. We would also like to focus on the development of our Tastesounds Library in the form of a computer program. There are endless combinations of tastes and sounds; soundscapes will vary from country to country, and from person to person. Each ROMI experience will be new and like no other.
We are Roman Hiele, composer of electronic music, and Michelle Woods, food artist and designer. We began this project in January 2015 at EMS Stockholm and are both very excited to continue our research in Kaohsiung City.
