I am a raconteur in visuals. I tend to record trivial events of life deciphering various cultural gesture of my time. I being a native of Assam find inspiration in the rich tradition of Assamese folk-lore, proverbs and fables. I constantly explore and imbibe as well as decode the satirical details of such literature, linking them with contemporary events. 

 

In a Bruegelesque fashion, my visual unfolds multiple narratives within a single frame. The proverbial realities get juxtaposed with historic realities, questioning the authenticity of an event. At times mundane becomes surreal, grotesque appear beauteous in my work. 

 

The forgotten proverbs, superstitious narratives; all shares the same pictorial space with the modern signs. Visual ironies help me to shape an imaginary realm where I interrogate and address the present socio-politico-cultural events.
