Most of my childhood I had to spend the time alone, paper and pencil was my first friend to talk with; I guess like other child it was my first access to art.

By moving different countries, I built my own ways of communicating with other people, now my main subject is about sharing the story of others.

 

I was born in South Korea in 1980 and moved to US since 1982 to 1988, that time I did not know how to speak Korean, which made harder to make friends at that time. Going to japan for exchange student and continuing my education in art in Pratt art institute at New York (M.F.A.), I guess, to survive to live with others, gradually I built up my Art about ways of communicating. 

 

With certain subjects by questioning them, why?, they were reviewing the subjects they never really thought about, because it was already imbued with their lives as habits or tradition.

 

My works were shown in several countries mostly in New York and Korea. It was very interesting, how different people could respond by the environment they are living.
