Geofictions is a research-driven speculative art/design studio establishedby Zara Arshad and Yaloo.

Zara is a researcher and curator interested in twentieth- and twenty first-century material and visual culture, liminal spaces, speculative histories, and design futures. She has previously held roles at: Asia Culture Center in South Korea, Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Design History Society UK, Beijing Design Week, and Icograda World Design Congress Beijing. Currently, Arshad is a doctoral researcher based at the University of Brighton and V&A; a university lecturer; and a Governing Board Member of 爻 yáo collaborative (formerly China Residencies).

Yaloo is a visual artist from South Korea working withdigital media. Through her work she explores contemporary consumer culture andsymbolism in the context of her Asian cultural heritage, and the impacts of theabundance of digital media in our everyday lives. She experiments with theinfinite possibilities of multimedia by mixing various technology-based forms,such as video, media facades, projection mapping, digital textiles, and virtualreality applications; creating new worlds and experiences that invite viewersto reconsider their experience of everyday life.
