I am aJapanese visual artist who is currently based in Tainan. After completing myBFA Photography at School of Visual Arts in NY, I have internationally shown myworks in solo and group shows and participated in artist residency programs byreceiving fellowships from art organizations. I completed my MFA in TainanNational University of the Arts. I was previously covered by several mediaincluding New York Times.

I work inphotography, video, ceramics and creative writing. I search for a visuallanguage to tell personal stories of general people that involve severalcultures, different points of view and languages. I am interested in how topass down the family histories in the communities where the mother languagesare not the same from generations to generations due to immigration or thepolitical reasons. My works use the monologue of a person who is talking to theirlate family members. The narrative is told in multiple languages to talk to thefamily members who are separated between two places or countries due to thehistory of migration in the family. The calm attitude of the stories candeliver the message that inspires the audience to reflect their own familyhistories.
