Christopher Kelsall (1992) lives and works in Paris, France. He sees himself as a printmaker because he considers the notions of originality and uniqueness less relevant today than those of renewal and plurality: computing, even moreso the Internet, are its epitome. He thinks copies are an important part of our everyday lives, and form sediments of information which stack as time goes by; some information is dug up and put back onto the most recent layer, some is stored until a later excavation. As an artist, he’s a part of this cyclical process, and printing, specifically 3D printing, materialises this phenomenon.
