This summer, I awoke from dream after dream.
As each dream fell away, I caught ghostlike whispers and began the summoning—calling forth its appearance.

“The spirit lingers in the folded time and space,
building a hidden castle,
turning the longing into poetry,
and wielding magic to conjure the reconstruction of time and memory.“

Within the linear flow of time, Yancheng’s spatial landscape and textures of life reveal a complex structure of vertical layers and horizontal expansion—like geological strata, endlessly accumulating, eroding, and overlaying. Each stratum conceals fragments of memory that have never truly faded, lying in quiet anticipation of being touched, discovered, and brought back to life.

In the gaze of the spirit, memory is not frozen in the past, but a fluid existence—constantly forming, transforming, and reconsturcting. Through the act of drag performance, the body becomes a ritual site of possession, carrying and responding to these fragments and traces of emotion, initiating a writing and dialogue on the shape of memory. Questioning how it is formed, altered, and reconstructed, a dielectic emerges between the “forgetten” and “remains,” as the memories of Yancheng’s residents are transformed into a tangible, stitched and reconstructed texture. Witnessing the emotional deposits, layered through the continual shifts of space and time, building a sensory realm between reality and illusion.
