I'm Shih-Yen Huang, a director and multimedia artist. My visual work primarily takes the form of animated short films and architectural light projections, with a long-standing focus on memory, family, and mourning. In terms of visual language, I combine hand-drawn animation with new media technologies, using poetic narratives and painterly gestures to convey the subtle flows of interpersonal relationships and emotional traces.

 I'm particularly interested in the memories hidden in the gaps of objects and spaces, and I employ strategies such as spatial composition, perspective, Gestalt theory, and visual dislocation to transform everyday scenes into emotionally dense visual experiences. Also, I continuously explore the fluidity of images across different media and their potential to generate new narratives.

 Through my work, I aim to capture psychological landscapes that are difficult to articulate, allowing viewers to rediscover the shapes of emotion within familiar worlds. This pursuit remains both the direction and driving force of my artistic practice.
