Tai-Chun Chou

Period: 2026/07/01 ~ 2026/08/31

Nation: Taiwan

Genre: Painting, Installation, Photogragh

Currently living and working in Taipei, Tai-Chun Chou has evolved from two-dimensional painting into painting-based installations, continuing to explore the tension between natural elements and human intervention present in earlier works. By investigating Taiwan's industrial history and changes in its landscapes, Chou develops a sense of temporal progression like time-travel stories. Residencies include OCI Museum in Seoul, Korea and BankART Studio NYK in Yokohama, Japan in 2017. In 2022, he received the Austronesian International Art Award (First Prize), launching a long-term research project in eastern Taiwan. This included a residency at Makotaay Eco Art Village in Hualien and three consecutive years of site-specific creation at Elug Art Corner, Hualien. His works are held in the collections of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and White Rabbit Gallery in Australia.
