Period: 2026/02/10 ~ 2026/04/29

Nation: Poland

Genre: Electroacoustic music, sound installation, music theatre

Sebastian Dembski is a composer and sound artist who explores sonic possibilities within his concept of “new ritual music,” combining the textures of traditional instruments with electronic layers shaped through modular synthesis and contemporary digital techniques. He works with extended harmonic systems and experiments with acoustics-altering meta-instruments that function simultaneously as sound installations and performative tools. He often uses unconventional multichannel systems that act both as dispersed sound sources and as objects with a narrative function. He has written several pieces for reel-to-reel recorders in liveelectronics settings, redefining their traditional role and pairing them with various instruments. Across his projects, he critically addresses how late capitalism and technology shape our beingin-the-world. He has written music for theatre and film, with his
works presented in major cultural institutions and at international festivals. He is a graduate of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied electroacoustic composition under prof. Rafał Zapała.
