Sakurako Nagano (anno lab) is an artist working across animation, installation, and drawing. Her practice grows from close observation of everyday gestures, rhythms, and the subtle connections between people and their environments. She is interested in how small personal memories and intimate narratives, often overlooked by history, become tied to specific places. By combining collected images, hand-drawn elements, and animated sequences, she creates quiet, reflective works that reveal traces of lived experience.
Nagano begins many of her projects by studying the spaces she inhabits, focusing on moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. These fragments of daily life form the foundation of her visual language. Through her installations and animations, she aims to slow the viewer’s perception and invite them to sense the emotional and temporal depth hidden within ordinary scenes.
