Jerry Huang is A Ph.D. candidate in Climate Change at National Taiwan University. He is also a photographic artist and one of the founders of "Photosynthesis." Born with mobility challenges, he often explores the world at a slower pace, relying on a wheelchair for assistance. He believes in the reciprocal relationship between the photographer and the subject, viewing photography as a dialogue. He has held various positions in the NTU Photography Society and has been recognized with awards such as the Taipei Arts Photography Exhibition (TAC) Young Potential Artist, Taipei Classic Photography Award (Silver, Humanitarian Category), Photo One Taipei Photography Art Festival (Expert Face-to-Face Selection), and the Chifeng Photography Award (Excellent Selection). His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Gallery_EM in Tokyo, and locally at major art book fairs, such as White Day and his solo exhibition at the Rural City Gallery in 2023. With a focus on exploring "relationships," he continues to host workshops on film developing, cyanotype printing, and photography creation and theory, guiding participants in darkroom techniques and helping them articulate their creative context, discourse, and presentation.
